I have been a personal injury lawyer in British Columbia since 1995 and represent people that have been injured in car crashes, bike accidents and many other types of situations such as pedestrian and truck accidents.  It is not uncommon for me to get a call from an ICBC injury claimant that is not happy with the lawyer they have hired. Take a read of my article about hiring car  accident lawyers in BC. Here is a quick and easy checklist of items to consider when hiring a personal injury lawyer in British Columbia:

  • Ask whether the lawyer has courtroom experience representing injury claimants in BC.
  • Find out whether the  personal injury lawyer has any experience dealing with injury claims against the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia.
  • Remember that more experienced personal injury lawyers will typically except and receive a higher fee  and are often worth their weight in gold. Read my article on getting a cost effective personal injury lawyer in BC.
  • Make sure you get along with your lawyer as you may end up spending a lot of time together if you need to prepare for trial. Review my article on finding a car accident lawyer for your injury claim.

    1. It’s good to learn that you should ask about how much experience a personal injury attorney has in the courtroom before hiring them. My brother is wanting to work in construction and he was wondering who he should hire if he gets injured at work. I’ll be sure to tell him that he should look for an experienced personal injury attorney if he gets injured.
